ASME A36/SA-36 Carbon Steel Plate

SA-36 is the grade of carbon steel used for structural purposes in the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standard. It is a commonly used low carbon steel with good weldability and mechanical properties. SA-36 carbon steel is widely used in buildings, bridges, ships and other structural projects, and is often used to manufacture components and support structures.

The chemical composition requirements of SA-36 carbon steel are as follows:

Carbon content (C): Maximum 0.25%
Manganese content (Mn): 0.80-1.20%
Sulfur content (S): not more than 0.05%
Phosphorus content (P): not more than 0.04%
Silicon content (Si): 0.15-0.40%
