Advantages of RINA Shipbuilding Steel Plate
High impact resistance: The steel maintains its strength and durability in low-temperature and
Corrosion resistance: RINA steel plates are built to resist corrosion, especially in saltwater, which is crucial for increasing the lifespan of a vessel and its structural components like hulls and decks.
Weldability: They are engineered for good weldability, which is essential for efficiently assembling large structures like ships.
Durability and safety: The combination of strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance makes these plates highly durable and contributes to the overall safety and stability of a vessel.
High strength and toughness: These plates are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of marine environments, offering high yield and tensile strengths and excellent impact resistance. The addition of specific alloying elements further enhances toughness.
Customization: Suppliers often provide customized options, such as cutting plates to specific dimensions, to meet the unique needs of a shipbuilding project.

RINA grade steel are high-strength structural steels used primarily in the construction of ship hulls and other critical structural components in the marine industry. These grades are specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Italian Register of Shipping (RINA) and are widely recognized for their superior mechanical properties, toughness, and resistance to marine environments.
Hull steel, such as RINA Grade AH40 and EH40, must meet strict standards for toughness, weldability, and corrosion resistance. These steels are typically low-alloy steels, which means they contain a small amount of additional elements to enhance their mechanical properties. These additional elements, such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, improve the steel's strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
RINA AH36 Shipbuilding steel plates are mainly used for making the hull of ship building and ship repairing, the offshore oil drilling platform, the platform pipe joints and other components. RINA AH36 Shipbuilding steel plates also can be used for producing container and bulk cargo vessels as well as cruise ships, ferries and yachts.

Production Process of RINA Shipbuilding Steel Plate

In order to ensure the performance of high-strength shipbuilding steel plates, micro-alloying technology is adopted. By adding nb, v, ti and other alloying elements to the steel, combined with the controlled rolling process, the grains are refined and the strength and toughness are improved.
Shipbuilding steel plates require good low-temperature toughness and good welding performance, which must first be guaranteed in the steel smelting process, and secondly, effective controlled rolling and controlled cooling processes must be implemented.
