Advantages of Non Oriented Silicon Steel
High electrical resistivity:
The silicon content in the steel significantly increases its electrical resistivity, which helps to reduce eddy current losses in rotating machinery and transformers.
Minimal magnetostriction:
The steel's low magnetostriction minimizes noise and vibration, making it suitable for applications where quiet operation is important.

Good magnetic properties:
Non-oriented silicon steel exhibits excellent magnetic properties, including high permeability and induction, which are crucial for efficient magnetic flux circulation in electrical devices.
Cost-effectiveness:
Compared to grain-oriented silicon steel, non-oriented silicon steel is generally more affordable and easier to obtain, making it a cost-effective choice for many applications.

Key Features of Non Oriented Silicon Steel
Low iron loss:
The most important indicator of quality, all countries in the world classify grades by iron loss value, the lower the iron loss, the higher the grade and the higher the quality.
High magnetic induction:
Silicon steels sheets with higher magnetic induction can be obtained under the same magnetic field, and the volume and weight of motor or transformer iron cores manufactured with it are relatively small, and silicon steel sheets, copper wires and insulating materials can be relatively saved.
High stacking factor:
The surface of the silicon steel sheet is smooth, flat and uniform in thickness, and the stacking factor of the iron core is improved.
Non - oriented silicon steel has high permeability, low core loss and low coercivity. Its uniform grain structure allows it to be magnetized in any direction, making it ideal for use in electrical equipment where the direction of magnetic flux is not fixed.
Non-oriented silicon steel is widely used in electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers and other equipment. It is particularly useful in applications where magnetic fields change rapidly, as it can reduce losses due to eddy currents.
Production Process of Non Oriented Silicon Steel
Raw materials: The process begins with iron ore, scrap steel, and the appropriate amount of silicon (typically 0.1-3.0 wt%).
Melting: These materials are melted in an electric arc furnace.
Alloying and refining: The molten steel is then alloyed with silicon and other elements (like aluminum and manganese) in a ladle furnace and refined in a vod (vacuum oxygen decarburization) converter.
Casting and hot rolling: The molten steel is cast into slabs, which are then transferred to the hot rolling mill. The slabs are reheated and rolled into heavy gauge coils.
Cold rolling and annealing: The pickled coils are then cold-rolled to achieve the desired final thickness. For some grades, intermediate annealing May be performed between cold rolling steps to improve the steel's workability.
Final annealing: The cold-rolled steel is then annealed to achieve the desired microstructure and magnetic properties. The steel May be coated with an insulation layer to improve its performance in specific applications.
