Q960E high strength QT steel plate
Q960E high strength steel plate is a low alloy high strength structural steel plate with high strength, high toughness and excellent welding performance. It is widely used in machinery manufacturing, construction engineering, electricity, automobile manufacturing, metal products and other fields.
- Q: Quenched and tempered steel (Yield strength).
- 690: Minimum yield strength of 690 MPa (for thickness ≤16 mm).

- Wear Margin & Weather Resistance – Corrosion rate ~0.1–0.2 mm/year (similar to structural steel); shot blasting/painting/galvanizing extends life 3–8×. Yield strength 960 MPa gives >2× deformation resistance of Q355; no hardfacing needed for fretting/low‑speed sliding wear, reducing processing costs.
- Controllable Cold Forming – Elongation 12–15% (min. 10%). Cold bend: mandrel = 3× thickness for ≤16 mm, 5× thickness for 16–50 mm, no cracks. Lower cold‑working barriers than cast/high‑alloy steels of equivalent strength, enabling flexible forming solutions.

Manufacturing Process & Quality Assurance
Our Q960E steel plates are produced via a full-process controlled production line to ensure consistent batch performance:
- Smelting: Hot metal pretreatment → BOF smelting → LF refining → VD vacuum degassing, strictly controlling harmful elements such as P and S, and reducing gas content to improve steel purity.
- Rolling & Heat Treatment: TMCP controlled rolling and cooling combined with offline quenching and high-temperature tempering, ensuring uniform through-thickness properties with an intra-plate strength difference controlled within 5%.
- Inspection: Full-range dimensional inspection, batch mechanical property testing, spectral composition analysis, and optional ultrasonic flaw detection for each plate.
