EN 10025-5 S235J2W Weathering Steel
As part of the EN 10025-5 specification for structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance, S235J2W provides a combination of modest mechanical strength, impact toughness, and self-protecting oxidation, making it a cost-effective choice for light to moderate structural applications.
Unlike conventional steels, S235J2W forms a protective oxide layer (patina) when exposed to alternating wet and dry cycles. This layer significantly slows down further corrosion, making it particularly advantageous in industrial zones, rural infrastructure, or utility environments with limited maintenance access.
