GB/T Q690NH Weathering Steel
Through the addition of alloying elements such as copper, chromium, nickel, and phosphorus, the steel naturally forms a dense, stable oxide film-often called a "patina"-when exposed to cycles of moisture and drying. This protective layer significantly slows down further rusting, helping extend the service life of the structure without constant repainting or coating.

Despite its high strength, Q690NH maintains reasonable weldability and machinability, which is important for fabricating complex structural components.
In industrial construction, Q690NH is widely used in long-span bridges, high-rise towers, offshore platforms, heavy-duty cranes, port and dock machinery, mining equipment, and wind turbine towers. It is particularly suited for coastal, high-humidity, or high-pollution environments, as well as mountainous regions where weather conditions can be severe.
