Mainly used in the manufacture of ocean-going, coastal and inland navigation ship hulls, decks and so on. Ships work in harsh environments, the hull shell to withstand the chemical corrosion of seawater, electrochemical corrosion and sea life, microbial corrosion; but also to withstand the impact of large wind and waves and the role of alternating loads; coupled with the complexity of the ship processing and molding and other reasons, so the hull structure of the steel requirements are stringent. Good toughness is the most critical requirement, in addition, to have high strength, good corrosion resistance, welding performance, processing and molding performance and surface quality. Its Mn/C ratio should be above 2.5, and there are also strict requirements on carbon equivalent, and it is produced by steel mills recognized by the ship inspection department.
