AOD slag dust control of wear-resistant plate and its engineering performance
As one of the bulk solid wastes in the metallurgical industry, AOD refining slag of wear-resistant plate has always been an urgent problem to be solved in the two aspects of harmless disposal and resource utilization. Due to the characteristics of the smelting process, the AOD slag of the wear-resistant plate is prone to pulverization during the cooling process, forming a very fine powder leading to dust, and a small amount of heavy metals such as chromium and nickel in the slag will also enter the atmosphere, water and soil around the slag field with the dust, and eventually be inhaled or absorbed by organisms. Therefore, the dust pollution generated in the process of transportation, disposal and storage of AOD slag of wear-resistant plate has potential harm to the environment and organisms.
AOD slag of wear-resistant plate is powderized in the cooling process due to the expansion of lattice transition volume, which is easy to cause dust pollution. Researchers have shown that the injection of boron-containing modifier can effectively inhibit the lattice transformation of AOD slag from β-C2S to γ-C2S phase, thus reducing the pulverizing dust removal rate by 90.1%. The resource utilization of AOD slag of wear-resistant plate after harmless treatment was discussed.
The results show that the wear-resistant plate steel slag can be used as cement mortar admixture to replace part of the cement, and the admixture range should be between 0 and 30%. At the same time, the toxic leaching test of AOD slag and its cement test block was carried out. The results showed that the leaching values of total chromium and hexavalent chromium were all lower than the standard limits, there was no problem of heavy metal leaching, and it could be used as resources later.
