Recently, GNEE Steel successfully delivered a batch of high-performance NM500 wear-resistant steel plates to a key mining project in Russia. Overcoming the harsh challenges posed by the frigid environment and ultra-strict technical standards, the on-time delivery of the order has won high recognition and trust from the Russian client, further consolidating GNEE Steel's position in the international high-end wear-resistant steel plate market.

This mining project is located in a typical frigid region of Russia, where the average winter temperature ranges from -40℃ to -50℃, and large areas of the site are covered with permafrost. Such extreme environmental conditions impose extremely high requirements on the performance of wear-resistant steel plates. On the one hand, the plates must have excellent wear resistance to withstand the continuous impact and friction of high-hardness ores. On the other hand, they need to possess superior low-temperature toughness to prevent brittle fracture under extremely cold conditions, thus ensuring the safe and stable operation of mining equipment. In addition, in accordance with international mining equipment specifications, the Russian client has formulated stringent standards for the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimensional accuracy of the steel plates.
To meet the special requirements of the project, the R&D and production team of GNEE Steel carried out targeted research. Building on the mature production technology of NM500 wear-resistant steel, the team optimized the chemical composition system, adopted precision calcium treatment and temperature-controlled quenching processes, and strictly controlled the content of harmful elements such as phosphorus and sulfur. The finally delivered NM500 steel plates boast a Brinell hardness of 480–525 HBW, a tensile strength exceeding 1350 MPa, and an impact energy of over 24 J at -20℃. These plates not only meet the high wear resistance requirements of mining operations but also exhibit outstanding low-temperature anti-brittle performance, fully adapting to the frigid operating environment of Russian mining areas.

To ensure on-time delivery, GNEE Steel formulated a scientific and rigorous full-process schedule. In the production phase, the company optimized production processes, coordinated various production resources, and achieved efficient and high-quality production of steel plates.
In the transportation phase, in response to the characteristics of low temperatures and high transportation difficulties in frigid regions, a customized special thermal insulation transportation plan was adopted, professional cold-resistant transport vehicles were selected, and dedicated personnel were assigned to track the transportation progress in real time, ensuring the safety and integrity of the steel plates during transportation. In the customs clearance phase, relying on rich international trade experience, all customs clearance procedures were completed in advance to ensure the smooth entry of goods into Russia.
"The quality of the NM500 wear-resistant steel plates provided by GNEE Steel fully meets our technical requirements, and the on-time delivery has further guaranteed the progress of our mining project," said the person in charge of the Russian mining project. "In the performance tests under frigid environment, this batch of steel plates demonstrated excellent performance, which has greatly satisfied us. We look forward to carrying out in-depth cooperation with GNEE Steel on more projects in the future."
As a high-end product independently R&D and manufactured by GNEE Steel, NM500 wear-resistant steel plates are widely used in harsh wear conditions such as mining and engineering machinery fields. The successful delivery to this Russian mining project marks another important achievement for GNEE Steel in expanding the international market, fully demonstrating the company's strong technical strength and comprehensive international service capabilities. Looking ahead, GNEE Steel will continue to focus on technological innovation, improve product quality, and provide more high-quality and reliable steel products and solutions for global customers.
