What is the heat treatment hardness of Cr12 die steel
Hardness is based on thermal treatment requirements, not a fixed value, there is a limit range. Cr12MoV after quenching temperature 1010°C, air cooling, 200 °C tempering, hardness can be 58 ~ 60HRC. But the premise is that there is a reliable material quality and source, as well as mature heat treatment technology.
Cr12MoV steel is a carbon molybdenum lime steel, its carbon content is much lower than Crl2 steel, and the addition of molybdenum, vanadium elements, so that the thermal processing properties of steel, impact toughness and carbide distribution have been significantly improved.
The steel has good wear resistance, hardenability, hardenability, strength and toughness, thermal stability, compressive strength, as well as micro-deformation, good performance and wide adaptability. The softening temperature is 520℃. The cross-section size can be completely quenched below 4mm, the wear resistance of the steel is 3 to 4 times that of low-alloy die steel, and the quenching volume deformation is small. Hardening depth: oil quenching 200 ~ 300mm.
Extended information:
After cryogenic treatment, the quenched martensite can precipitate highly dispersed ultra-fine carbides, and then convert ultra-fine carbides into cemented carbide.
For martensite without cryogenic treatment, only a small amount of carbides are precipitated in a local area after cryogenic treatment. CR12MOV die steel adopts low temperature chemical heat treatment method. On the basis of maintaining high hardness and high wear resistance of CR12MOV die steel, the adhesion resistance of ion nitriding, gas nitriding and salt bath thiocyanate carburizing layer is commonly used in low temperature chemical heat treatment.
The penetration layers of the three kinds of low temperature chemical heat treatment have remarkable impact resistance adhesion. Among them, the salt bath is the best. Stainless steel drawing die made of CR12MOV die steel, after gas nitrogen and carbon treatment, the service life of more than 30,000 pieces.
Compared with conventional quenching and tempering treatment, the service life of the same mold is increased by more than 10 times.
