LR-AH40 is a ship plate certified by the British Bureau of Shipping. The initial capital "A" in the AH36 steel plate grade indicates the quality grade of the steel plate. "H" indicates that the steel plate is a high-strength steel plate. "40" indicates the yield strength of the steel plate.

The Z-direction performance of LR-AH40 ship plate mainly requires the sulfur content and post-fracture elongation of the steel plate. The higher the requirement, the lower the sulfur content. The Z-direction performance is the thickness direction performance of the steel plate. The Z-direction performance of the steel plate's lamellar tear resistance test is the steel plate requirement. An important technical requirement, applicable to thicknesses between 15mm-300mm.
According to the usage requirements, LR-AH40 ship plate can be in different states such as hot rolling, normalizing, tempering, normalizing plus tempering, quenching and tempering.
It can produce lamellar tear-resistant (thickness direction performance) steel plates of various grades from Z15 to Z35.
