Products Description

 

product-395-25715CrMoR alloy structural steel plate is medium temperature pressure vessel steel. 15CrMoR alloy structural steel plate implements the standard GB713, and the corresponding American steel grade is SA387 gr 12. 15CrMoR alloy structural steel plate is delivered in the normalized + tempered state. The flaw detection standard of 15CrMoR alloy structural steel plate is implemented according to JB / T4730.3.

15CrMoR is a type of pressure vessel steel plate.

The "15" indicates that the carbon content is 0.15%.

"Cr" means the composition contains a certain chemical element - chromium.

"Mo" means the composition contains a certain chemical element - molybdenum.

"R" is the first letter of "Rong" (which means "vessel" in the context of vessel plates) in Chinese.

Process Performance

 

Weldability: The carbon equivalent CEV is ≤0.45%, and the welding crack sensitivity coefficient Pcm is ≤0.22%. R307 electrode (E5515-B2) can be used for welding, with the strength matching coefficient of weld metal being 0.98.

Heat treatment: Normalizing (900~930℃) + tempering (620~680℃) is recommended to refine grains and improve toughness and high-temperature stability.

Workability: It can be formed by cold working (such as bending, stamping) and hot working (such as rolling, forging). For cold working, preheating to 150~200℃ is required (when the thickness is >25mm).

 

Production Process and Quality Control

 

Production Process

  • Steelmaking: Processes such as hot metal pretreatment, converter smelting, LF refining, and RH vacuum degassing are adopted to ensure stable chemical composition.
  • Continuous Casting: Control the temperature and flow state of molten steel to obtain good quality of cast billets.
  • Rolling: Optimize the structure and improve mechanical properties through controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology.
  • Heat Treatment: The delivery state is normalizing + tempering, and the tempering temperature is not lower than 650℃.

 

Quality Inspection

  • Chemical Composition Analysis: Test in accordance with standards such as GB/T 4336 to ensure that the composition meets the requirements.
  • Mechanical Property Testing: Tensile, impact, and bending tests are conducted to verify strength and toughness.
  • Non-Destructive Testing: Ultrasonic testing is carried out in accordance with JB/T 4730.3, with 100% inspection and Grade I qualification.
  • Dimensional Inspection: Check the thickness, width, length, and flatness, which shall comply with the GB/T 709-2006 standard.

 

Application Fields

 

Petrochemical Industry

Manufacturing equipment such as hydrogenation reactors, catalytic cracking units, high-temperature and high-pressure heat exchangers (design temperature ≤ 550℃), and large storage tanks (requiring resistance to H₂S corrosion environments).

Power Industry

Manufacturing equipment such as power station boiler drums (working pressure ≤ 17MPa), superheater/reheater headers, and nuclear power secondary loop pressure vessels.

Coal Chemical Industry

Manufacturing equipment such as coal gasifier shells and synthesis tower internals (resistant to syngas corrosion).

Other Fields

Manufacturing liquefied natural gas (LNG) equipment, high-pressure gas cylinders for special vehicles, etc.

 

Material Selection Recommendations

 

Recommended application scenarios: Medium and high-pressure vessels with a design temperature of 400~550℃, petrochemical equipment that needs to balance cost and performance, and working conditions with requirements for hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) resistance.

 

Not recommended application scenarios: Long-term working temperature >600℃ (12Cr2Mo1R should be selected instead), and strong acidic medium environments (composite stainless steel plates should be used).
