09MnNiDR steel plate is a kind of steel for ultra-low temperature pressure vessels.

Because of the addition of nickel to the steel, the 09MnNiDR steel plate can maintain a relatively high mechanical strength and toughness in the ultra-low temperature state. The steel plate is widely used in low-temperature pressure vessels at -45~-70℃. Mainly used in the manufacture of petroleum, chemical equipment towers, CO2 absorption towers, medium pressure flash towers, cooler towers, reabsorption towers, compressor casings, and propane cryogenic storage tanks.

• Normalizing: Heating the steel plate to above the critical temperature (usually 30~50℃ above Ac3 or Accm), then cooling it in air to obtain a uniform and fine grain structure.
• Tempering: A process of heating the steel plate to a certain temperature (below the critical temperature), holding it for a period of time, and then cooling it at an appropriate rate. This can eliminate internal stress and brittleness generated during quenching or normalizing, and improve the plasticity and toughness of the steel plate.

 

A. For steel plates delivered in normalized or normalized + tempered state with a thickness greater than 20mm, and those delivered in quenched + tempered state with a thickness greater than 16mm, the supplier shall conduct ultrasonic testing one by one.

B. For steel plates of other thicknesses, ultrasonic testing one by one can also be carried out through negotiation between the supplier and the buyer.

C. The standards for ultrasonic inspection of steel plates shall be implemented in accordance with GB/T2970, JB/T4730.3 or GB/T28297. The inspection standards and qualified levels shall be specified in the contract.
