API SPEC 2H Steel Plate Products Description
API SPEC 2H Offshore Steel Plate For Shipbuilding is carburized steel. Carburized steel is generally low carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.15%-0.24%. It is an American standard steel plate for marine structures. API 2H steel plate for shipbuilding is steel for offshore platforms. It is used to make hulls, offshore oil production platforms, platform pipe joints and other structural parts. It is suitable for surface carburizing and hardening treatment. It has excellent steel plate for shipbuilding deformation, and very good fatigue resistance. Used to make ship hulls, offshore oil production channels, channel pipe joints and other structural parts. Implementation standards: CCS/DNV/ABS/GL/LR/BV/RINA/NK/KR;Common grades include 2HGr42 and 2HGr50.
API SPEC 2H Marine Steel Tensile Properties (transverse Specimen):
Grade 42 yield strength ksi (MPA) minimum value 42 (289) tensile strength ksi (MPA) 62-82 (427-565)
Grade 50 yield strength ksi (MPA) minimum value 50 (345) tensile strength ksi (MPA) 70-90 (483-620)
Grade 42 elongation thickness 50mm-200mm: minimum, %22-18
Grade 50 elongation thickness 50mm-200mm: minimum, %21-16
Marking: Level 42 should be marked as API 2H-42, and level 50 should be marked as API 2H-50.
Steel plates undergoing heat treatment should be printed with a suffix of G, normalized steel plates with a suffix of N, and quenched and tempered steel plates with a suffix of QT. Boron, vanadium, zirconium, cerium and other rare earth metals may not be added without the consent of the purchaser. If any of the above elements are added to the steel plate, C will be printed after H in the logo. Steel plates accepted according to the Z thickness direction test procedure should have Z printed after the grade.
