C45E4 heat treatment methods include annealing, normalizing and quenching.

1. Annealing: Heat C45E4 to a temperature range of approximately 800°C-900°C, maintain it for a certain period of time and then slowly cool down. Annealing can relieve stress and improve the toughness and processability of steel. The annealing process generally includes full annealing and spheroidizing annealing.

2. Normalizing: Heat C45E4 to a temperature range of approximately 830°C-900°C, maintain it for a certain period of time and then cool it with air cooling. Normalizing can improve the hardness and strength of steel, but it has better toughness than quenching.

3. Quenching: Heat C45E4 to the appropriate temperature (usually 830°C-900°C), and then quickly cool it to room temperature or low-temperature medium, such as water, oil or brine. Quenching can quickly form a martensite structure in steel, thereby improving its hardness and strength. However, quenching makes the steel brittle, at which point tempering is often required to improve its toughness and impact resistance.

4. Tempering: Reheat the quenched C45E4 to a temperature range of about 150°C-500°C, keep it for a certain period of time and then cool it. Tempering can reduce the internal stress formed during the quenching process, improve the toughness and ductility of the steel, and is suitable for some applications that require both hardness and toughness.
