Application Of Wear-Resistant Steel Plates In Sand And Gravel Production Lines

Production Process:

Wear-resistant steel plates are processed into various wear-resistant liners through production technologies such as cutting, plate rolling deformation, drilling, and tapping.

Application Areas:

Wear-resistant liners are applied to crusher equipment, feeding hoppers, feeders, screen inlets, chutes, etc.

Advantages of Wear-Resistant Steel Liners

1. Superior Wear Resistance

The high-manganese castings commonly used for crusher liners are mainly Mn13, Mn13Cr2, and Mn18Cr2. Under medium and low impact working conditions, these high-manganese casting liners cannot fully exert their work-hardening capacity due to insufficient impact and friction, often wearing out before achieving the desired work-hardening effect. GNEE Steel's wear-resistant steel offers exceptional wear resistance, allowing for thinner liners to reduce product costs or extend liner service life.

2. Excellent Impact Resistance

Under certain high-impact stress conditions (such as gouging wear), the work-hardening peak of high-manganese castings does not lie on the outermost surface. This leads to tissue embrittlement and crack initiation at that location, causing spalling or even brittle fracture of the worn surface. In contrast, GNEE's wear-resistant steel is quenched and tempered steel plate with better hardenability and uniform structure, ensuring consistent performance from surface to core without brittle fracture.

Recommended Usage of Wear-Resistant Steel Liners

In sand and gravel production lines, various equipment components operate under conditions requiring wear resistance, impact resistance, and high toughness. The selection of wear-resistant steel liners should be based on the different crushing principles and desired product particle sizes.

What is wear resistant steel?

Wear resistant steel generally has a higher carbon content and also contains manganese, chromium, nickel, vanadium and boron. These alloying elements increase not only the hardness but also the ductility. To a limited degree, these elements also have a positive effect on corrosion resistance.

What is the most wear resistant steel?

600HB: HARDOX600 and XAR600 are among the hardest wear-resistant steels on the market. They offer maximum abrasion resistance and are used in applications where the wear stress is extremely high, such as in crushing plants or in steel production.

What is the difference between hardness and wear resistance of steel?

Wear Resistance vs. Hardness Which is Better?

Hardness refers to a material's resistance to permanent deformation and applies to a material's ability to resist indentation, scratching, cutting or bending. Wear resistance refers to a material's ability to resist material loss by some mechanical action.

What is AR400 Steel?

AR400 is specifically designed for abrasion and wear-resistant applications. AR400 has a typical hardness range of 360-444 BHN, which is slightly lower than AR450. As with other abrasion-resistant steels, it does not have defined chemistry, but rather, the grade is determined based on hardness.

Is AR400 stronger than mild steel?

AR400 Mild Steel: Compared to mild steel, AR400 is significantly harder and more durable, making it more suitable for high-wear applications. Nevertheless, it is much more difficult to weld or form.

What is the difference between AR 400 and 500 steel?

What's the difference? The major difference is impact resistance. AR500 has higher abrasion resistance, but AR400 has higher impact resistance.

What is NM400 steel?

NM400 Steel is a high-strength, wear-resistant steel known for its superior durability and toughness. NM400 is a Chinese GB standard steel grade. The NM 400 material is widely used in industries where resistance to abrasion is important, such as in the construction and mining sectors.

What is the difference between Hardox 400 and NM400?

The chemical composition of NM400 and Hardox 400 affects their wear resistance, strength, and performance under stress. Hardox 400 generally contains a higher chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni) content, which contributes to better hardness and toughness, while NM400 maintains a balance between cost and performance.
